Equally shocking is the second story, “The Dynamite Demon of Whiskey Row’s Cabinet Saloon.” In this harrowing account, an explosion at the Cabinet Saloon turned out to be the work of a jealous husband seeking revenge on his bigamist wife, a local prostitute. The dramatic attempt on her life brought chaos and devastation to the saloon, leaving behind a trail of destruction that cemented its place in Prescott’s folklore.
Both stories are rich with sensational details that seem almost too extraordinary to believe. Yet, they remain an integral part of Prescott’s colorful history, a testament to the unpredictability and drama of life in the Wild West. These tales remind us that truth can sometimes be stranger than fiction, especially on Whiskey Row.
